I am pursuing a Master's in Health Informatics from Grand Canyon University in Arizona. I will be starting the final course of the program on November 13th and ending on March 6th, assuming I find a preceptor in time. The school requires the preceptor to have a Master's degree in Informatics or a related field and have two years of experience. I have a couple of ideas for projects. Behavioral health is a field I am passionate about and I know EHR's are often not compatible with behavioral health professionals workflow. I would like to study the workflows for behavioral health professionals and design an EHR workflow that may be more efficient. I would also enjoy creating role based training courses for health care professionals that focus on privacy and security, or analysis for health care research. My school does allow remote preceptorships so I am not limited to Arizona.
