Nov. 2025 eChapter Monthly CE Webinar: Achieving Gold Standard Outcomes in Maternal Health

Posted 1 day ago by Gilda Gilbert in CE

This topic examines the impact of reproductive injustice through the lens of personal narrative and clinical insight, highlighting the emotional, mental, and physical toll of pregnancy loss and systemic disparities in maternal care. The speaker will share community-based and policy-driven strategies for advancing reproductive justice and trauma-informed support.

Rachell M. Dumas, MSN, RN, DNP(c) is a former operating room nurse, maternal health
advocate, and nurse informaticist. After enduring multiple pregnancy losses and surviving two brain surgeries for a neurological condition that was initially misdiagnosed as a gastrointestinal illness, Rachell transformed her pain into purpose. She founded A Light After Nine, a nonprofit that supports families navigating pregnancy and infant loss, and SpeakRx, a health technology platform designed to improve patient advocacy, communication, and safety in healthcare systems.

Her work bridges clinical expertise, lived experience, and digital innovation to reimagine how
healthcare listens to and learns from patients. Through both her nonprofit and healthtech
initiatives, Rachell continues to elevate conversations around surgical safety, reproductive
justice, and patient empowerment—championing a future where every patient’s voice informs
better outcomes.
